BODIES IN THE LANDSCAPE
Photography workshop led by Luís Costa and Liliana Silva
February 22nd – 09h30am to 05h00pm
In partnership with the Vocational School of Vouzela and the Municipality of Vouzela

Our first habitat is our body. Throughout the years, our bodies inhabit and get to know other places, gradually generating a set of affective landscapes. Body, space and landscape are therefore closely linked.

The “Bodies in the Landscape” photography workshop, organized by Binaural Nodar in partnership with the Vocational School of Vouzela, offers participants an opportunity to explore the interconnection between the expression of their bodies and some natural and rural landscapes in the municipality of Vouzela. During the workshop, participants will be invited to reflect on how the landscape can influence bodily experiences. Through the lens of photography, teenagers will be encouraged to capture moments that express the complexity of this relationship, exploring themes such as identity, self-expression and the connection with the environment.

By focusing on natural landscapes, the workshop also tries to highlight their crucial importance for the physical and psychological well-being of teenagers. Landscapes are not just a backdrop, but can play an active role in the process of self-knowledge and emotional development during this crucial phase of life.

The “Bodies in the Landscape” workshop will cover methods of looking at the landscape, some photographic techniques and also aspects of artistic sensitivity, encouraging participants to reflect on how the body can be an instrument of emotional expression in moments of contact with natural landscapes. The end result will be a photographic and sound installation, the opening of which will be announced in due course.
