Sound and Oral Tradition Workshop in a Rural Community in Uruguay

Binaural Nodar is pleased to announce that, in partnership with Mapa sonoro de Uruguay, it will co-organize a sound and oral tradition workshop aimed at a rural community in the north of Uruguay: Piedra Sola (department of Paysandú), whose thematic focus will be a dialogue between the traditional children’s games of the region and current forms of play.

The workshop, entitled “Aros y rayuelas” (free translation “Hoops and hopscotch”), will take place on the 21st of August at 2:00 pm at the Escola Rural nº 49 in Piedra Sola and will be co-led by Nilda Amaral (Nil Amar), a facilitator of sound and musical expression workshops from the north of Uruguay, and by Luis Gomes da Costa, coordinator of Binaural/Nodar, a Portuguese cultural association dedicated to ethnography and contemporary sound/media creativity in rural contexts.
