Next Friday, 26/10 at 6:00 pm, Binaural Nodar will present to the students of the Postgraduate Course in Digital Visual Cultures at ISCTE-IUL the project DA SERRA PARA A FÁBRICA (FROM THE MOUNTAIN TO THE FACTORY), part of the Creative Europe Programme associated with the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
DA SERRA PARA A FÁBRICA rescues, documents, unites and creatively expresses memories of the migrations to the eastern part of Lisbon (Marvila Parish Council) throughout the 20th century, with the particularity that most of these people came from Beira Alta, namely from the municipalities of Castro Daire and São Pedro do Sul.
The presentation will be led by the project curators, Luis Gomes da Costa and Maile Costa Colbert, and, as part of the existing partnership between Binaural/Nodar and the Postgraduate Course in Digital Visual Cultures, students will be offered a collaborative work based on the production of open archives, shared workflows and negotiation processes for some of their creative outcomes.
The project is part of the European cultural network “Where the city loses its name”, whose main partners are the Spanish/Catalan LaFundició, the Romanian Fundatia Altart and the Portuguese Binaural/Nodar, and is dedicated to rescuing memories of migrations to the peripheries of cities, as contexts deserving documentary, creative and community attention.
