Binaural Nodar, the Municipality of Castro Daire, Casa Concelho Castro Daire in Lisbon, the Marvila Parish Council (Lisbon) and the Postgraduate Course in Digital Visual Cultures at ISCTE invite people originally from Castro Daire who emigrated to Marvila to a gathering of collective memory, about what life was like in the Chinese neighbourhood, work in the factories and warehouses, and the social life of other times in the eastern part of Lisbon.
The gathering to share memories of Castro Daire natives in Marvila will take place on Saturday, 1st of December at 10:00 am, at the Casa do Concelho de Castro Daire, Rua Vale Formoso de Cima, no. 94. We call on all who wish to share their memories or who know people who might be interested to share this invitation.
This session is part of the project DA SERRA PARA A FÁBRICA (FROM THE MOUNTAIN TO THE FACTORY), part of the European network Where the City Loses its Name which brings together Binaural/Nodar, LaFundició (Catalonia/Spain) and Fundatia Altart (Romania), co-financed by the Creative Europe programme and integrated into the events and activities of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
