From May 22 to June 20, 2025
Opening: May 22 at 3:00 p.m.
Lafões Cult Lab (Vouzela, Portugal)

A co-production between Binaural Nodar and the Local Community of Rebordinho and Malhadouro Common Lands, with the support of the Município de Vouzela, the Civil Parish of Campia and co-funded by the Creative Europe program, in the context of the Tramontana Network project.

The audiovisual installation “The Valorization of the Common Lands of Rebordinho and Malhadouro” is presented following extensive research carried out in the summer of 2024, which included testimonies from former and current leaders, founders, local population and personalities linked to the theme of common land, which is community-owned land whose origins date back to peoples prior to the constitution of the Portuguese nation. In Rebordinho, the first movements towards the establishment of the common land date back to 1978 and were finally realized in March 1994, thus having three decades of activity.

The Local Community of the Common Lands of Rebordinho and Malhadouro and Binaural Nodar would like to thank the people who provided documentation for the exhibition: Amadeu Soares, António Carvalho, Celestino Tavares, José Luís Tavares, and Regina Soares.

In parallel with the audiovisual installation, the documentary “A Valorização dos Baldios de Rebordinho e Malhadouro” (The Valorization of the Common Lands of Rebordinho and Malhadouro) will be released on social media with subtitles in Portuguese, English, and French, as part of the dissemination of the creative productions of the partners of the European network Tramontana associated with themes such as agro-pastoralism, forest and natural resource management, and social mobility.

Binaural Nodar is a organization supported by the Portuguese Republic – Culture | Directorate-General for the Arts.
