Casa

This sound installation focuses on the abandoned house slated for renovation to accommodate Binaural’s art residency program in Nodar. The time-worn structure, built in 1825, will be fitted with small speakers set inside the space and into gaps between the stones of the house. The positioning of the speakers will simulate the movement of the river that runs through Nodar, describing a sort of circular path. Local field recordings will be geminated with sounds and structures used in the Topoló installation which occurred also in an empty house.Through the proposed actions, the house can become not just a place of stones and memory, but also a multiple listening space, a murmuring organism, and, in that sense, it is inhabited.
