An initiative proposed by Binaural Nodar for the project Granja Ativa 2026 – International Work Camp, organized by the Grupo Desportivo e Recreativo da Granja, which will take place from July 23rd to August 2nd, 2026.

This specific initiative, taking place on February 24th, starting at 9:00 a.m., is co-curated by the associations Binaural Nodar (Viseu Dão Lafões) and Sincròniques (Valencian Country) and is also part of the activities of the European project Tramontana Network, co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe program.

Common Land Day will consist of an interpretive, sensory, and musical walk through common lands around the village of Granja — passing through places such as Lenteiro do Rio Mau, Redondelo, and Serra do Couço — promoting interaction between volunteers, the community, specialists, and artists.

Common Land Day will feature contributions from the coordinator of Binaural Nodar, Luís Gomes da Costa, the Uruguayan anthropologist Ana Rodríguez, and the Valencian traditional musicians Laia and Pau Puig Olives, contributing to a performative and multidisciplinary interpretation of the communal areas, based on the premise that the landscape managed by local common land communities is also a sensory, living, and expressive heritage that can be documented and interpreted through art and research. The walk will end with a community lunch in Serra do Couço.

The Granja Ativa 20026 project includes, in addition to Binaural Nodar, a broad network of partners, among them the Municipality of Castro Daire, the Castro Daire Municipal Library, the Castro Daire School Cluster, and the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu.

Binaural Nodar is a cultural organization supported by the Portuguese Republic – Culture, Youth, and Sports | Directorate-General for the Arts.
