TRAINING IS THE GAME, THE GAME IS EMOTION
Photography exhibition by Nely Ferreira
On June 26th, the Lamego multipurpose pavilion hosted the opening of the photography exhibition by Nely Ferreira, a production by Binaural Nodar, in collaboration with Futsal Clube de Lamego and part of the European project Tramontana Network, co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe program.
Continuing a project developed in 2025, Nely Ferreira developed, between April and May, a new edition of the artistic creation “Training is the game, the game is emotion”, related to the world of futsal and produced by Binaural Nodar.
Starting from a younger male age group (in 2025 the project focused on a senior women’s team), this project focused on the process of identity-building at a decisive stage of personal growth, exploring the moment when futsal stops being purely play and takes on a significant role in the athletes’ development.
As in the previous edition, the project included photographs and sound recordings of training sessions and matches, as well as interviews with athletes and coaching staff, seeking to understand how they experience training, what emotions they associate with the game, and what meaning they attribute to victory, defeat, and dreams within the sport. The project also extended to the parents’ perspective, such as the relationship they had with sports in their youth and the emotions they experience when following their children.
Nely Ferreira and Binaural Nodar thank the board of Futsal Clube de Lamego for their willingness to host this artistic project.
Binaural Nodar is a cultural organization supported by the Portuguese Republic – Culture, Youth, and Sports | Directorate-General for the Arts.
