RESEARCH SUMMIT 2026
July 15th to 17th, 2026
University of Aveiro

On July 17th, at the University of Aveiro’s Research Summit, the coordinator of Binaural Nodar, Luís Gomes da Costa, presented a scientific paper associated with the Doctoral Program in Artistic Creation and with his research at ID+, entitled “Rural interstices: Ethno-poiesis and the audiovisual essay as a third place”.

This paper offers an approach to site-specific artistic creation, introducing issues such as rural interlocalism, multisensoriality, interactivity, and sound and poetic creation in an audiovisual context, stemming in part from his more than 20 years of activity as coordinator and artistic director of Binaural Nodar.

The Research Summit is a forum that aims to foster an important debate among the research community of the University of Aveiro and to increase collaboration, advancing the state of the art and boosting research efforts on campus.

Luís Gomes da Costa thanks his supervisory team for their contribution to the review of this paper: Prof. Graça Magalhães, Prof. Sérgio Eliseu, and Prof. Susana Nascimento Duarte.
