The Creative Europe project Réseau Tramontana III, of which Binaural Nodar is currently the lead partner, is being promoted by the European Commission as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, as a paradigmatic project of the type of approach, simultaneously anchored in the territories and their traditions and in a sense of openness, international cooperation and contemporaneity.
Here is the video produced, based on material provided by the project partners: Binaural Nodar (Portugal), Audiolab (Basque Country, Spain), Nosauts de Bigòrra, Numériculture Gascogne and Eth Ostau Comengés (all three from France), Bambun and Associazione LEM-Italia (both from the Abruzzo region, Italy) and Akademia Profil (Poland).
Binaural/Nodar’s activity within this project, a dense set of sound recordings, video, educational actions, publications, artistic creations, exhibitions and performances, takes place mainly in the Municipality of São Pedro do Sul, Municipality of Viseu, Municipality of Vouzela and Municipality of Oliveira de Frades.

Creative Europe success stories – Tramontana network This project aims to preserve Europe’s intangible cultural heritage. Gathering 8 partners in 5 European countries – France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Poland, it documents and shares information on environmental, agricultural, tourist and socio-ethnic heritage in rural and mountain communities. This is essential for sustainable tourism, academic records and the passing-on of knowledge between generations.Engagement of local communities was a key component throughout the project, This is also a priority of the European year of Cultural Heritage.
