Binaural Nodar took part today, 23rd of September, with great pleasure in the ceremonies of the 80th anniversary of Manhouce folklore, a beautiful tribute to those valiant people who, long ago, began a path of dignifying the popular culture of this parish of the Municipality of São Pedro do Sul, located in the Serra da Arada.

During the event, the coordinator of Binaural Nodar, Luis Gomes da Costa, was one of several people awarded the commemorative medal for the 80 years of Manhouce folklore.

We enjoyed reconnecting with old friendships forged over the years of research, through deep contact with villages and communities such as Bondança, Muro, Vilarinho, Bustarenga, Gestoso, Gestosinho, etc.

Our contribution at Binaural/Nodar is just a drop in the ocean of attention that this land deserves (as do other lands too), and we believe that only through honest cooperation among everyone (local population, municipality, parish council, singing and folk dance groups, cultural associations, universities, etc.) is it possible to move forward in this dignification and valorisation of cultural heritage, with each one contributing their best, with humility and a spirit of dedication.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Municipality of São Pedro do Sul, the Manhouce Parish Council (Manhouce uma Freguesia para Viver), the As Vozes de Manhouce Group and the Rancho Folclórico da Casa do Povo de Manhouce for the success and unity of today.
