Binaural Nodar has just announced the launch of its Binaural Nodar Digital Archive (http://www.archive.binauralmedia.org), the result – shared with the world – of numerous ethnographic investigations, educational projects in the field of soundscapes and artistic works, all related to the association’s territory of intervention, the Portuguese region of Viseu Dão Lafões, with some incursions into adjacent areas, namely in the district of Aveiro.
The archive currently comprises almost 600 documents, which we will be sharing gradually. The first one is a recording of an electronic church bell made in May 2010 in the village of Fráguas by a young student from Vila Nova de Paiva, as part of the educational project “Aldeias Sonoras”.
