“Ouço, lembro, sinto” (“I Hear, I Remember, I Feel”) Workshop
April 29-30, 2019, 10am-5pm
Book and Reading Festival
Castro Daire Municipal Library

Discourse on collective memory almost always points to old contexts and to the need for rescue processes to value and disseminate it. If we extend this concept of memory to children, we necessarily enter another realm, one no less important, since growth itself involves activating processes of remembering and adapting, both individual and collective, in which expressiveness and the absence of pre-set scripts are a constant source of liberation.

The “Ouço, lembro, sinto” workshop, taking place at the Castro Daire Municipal Library on April 29 and 30, will challenge children from the municipality of Castro Daire to express part of their personal world of memories, drawing on sound stimuli from the Binaural Nodar Digital Archive and others arising from experiences, dreams, legends and local stories held by the Castro Daire Municipal Library, resulting in a set of oral/sound narratives with both collective and territory-specific value.

This workshop is led by Luis Gomes da Costa, and is included in the Creative Europe Tramontana Network (Réseau Tramontana) memory archives project, as well as being part of the programme of the Book and Reading Festival promoted by the Castro Daire Municipality and the Castro Daire School Group.
