LISTENING TO AND INVENTING SOUNDS AROUND US
Coordinated by Luís Costa
Workshop for children from the ATL (after-school program) of the Municipality of Oliveira de Frades
5 April ’17, from 2:30pm to 5:30pm
Children run, shout, laugh and sometimes cry. Being a child is a world of possibilities in which freedom of expression should be a condition for healthy growth.
However, today’s world often means that many children do not listen to the world around them with the attention they should, immersed in audiovisual environments that are too intense and noisy. The workshop “Listening to and Inventing Sounds Around Us”, led by Luís Costa (coordinator of Binaural/Nodar), proposes a set of exercises in listening to space, materials and objects, and the collective construction of small sound works that aim to recover a sense of materiality and community, similar to the games and play of other times.
