“The Third River: An Imaginary Journey Between Distant Waters is an audiovisual installation that explores artistic research in response to global-local complexities through the memory of rural river contexts. Drawing on oral traditions, historical and geographical sources, soundscapes, and poetic texts, the installation reflects on the emotional significance of rivers in two regions: the Bisagno River in Genoa, Italy, and the Zela River in Viseu Dão Lafões, Portugal.

Through artistic research in both regions, the project proposes the concept of “dual site-specificity,” which links different socio-geographical realities into one work of art, imagining shared cultural bonds between distant places.

Binaural Nodar is a cultural organization supported by the Portuguese Republic – Culture, Youth, and Sports | Directorate-General for the Arts.
