THEATRE OF RURAL WATER

Theatre of Rural Water is a community theatre production developed between October 2024 and June 2025 with students from the Senior University of Vouzela. The script addresses the importance of water in rural villages, It was written based on stories and ethnographic knowledge shared among the group about places such as Figueiredo das Donas, Cambra, Paços de Vilharigues, etc., including aspects such as springs, trips to the fountain, dowsers who discovered water with a rod, the irrigation of corn fields, variations in the volume of water in certain years, etc.
This project is part of the European Tramontana Network, a project co-financed by the Creative Europe Programme and running from 2024 to 2027, coordinated by the Binaural Nodar, in conjunction with 10 other partners from Spain, Italy, France, Albania, Romania and Poland. including local collaborations with the Municipality of Vouzela, the Vouzela Professional School and other entities.
A co-production between the Municipality of Vouzela through the Senior University of Vouzela, the Cambra Cultural and Recreational Association and Binaural Nodar.
A project integrated into the European project Tramontana Network, co-financed by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
