MADEIRA ISLAND IN VOUZELA: MEMORIES FROM HERE AND BEYOND THE SEA

Audiovisual Concert
On December 2nd, the audiovisual and musical concert “Madeira island in Vouzela: Memories from here and beyond the sea” by Dolores Spínola and Liliana Silva took place at the Vouzela Municipal Museum, attended by a heterogeneous and very interested audience.
Vouzela was the point of arrival for two Madeiran artists who settled there and got to know each other, Liliana Silva who works in the field of video creation and Dolores Spínola who dedicates to music, one being from the south of the island of Madeira and the other from the north. In this musical and audiovisual project, the image takes us on a journey that explores the various senses, through deep-rooted memories, as well as drawing a parallel of chromatic similarities and differences, of textures and flavors, between the place of departure and the place of arrival.
The creation “Madeira island In Vouzela” was part of a two-year project entitled ” Echoes of leaving and returning”, which documented, expressed and disseminated through different formats (audiovisual collections, artist residencies, exhibitions and installations, concerts and workshops) memories of migrations to and from Binaural Nodar’s intervention territory.
Binaural Nodar is a cultural organization supported by the Portuguese Government – Culture | Directorate-General for the Arts.
