Santa Marina di Salina (Aeolian Islands, Sicily)
October 10th to 20th, 2023

A co-production by Amaneï Salina and Binaural Nodar, with the support of Mapa sonoro de Uruguay, the Villa Santa Lucia association and the municipalities of Santa Marina di Salina (Aeolian Islands) and Castro Daire (Portugal).

The third artist residency of the “Fresh water, salt water” cycle has begun, a partnership project between two cultural organizations, Binaural Nodar and Amaneï Salina, which host projects linking contemporary artistic creation to multidisciplinary reflection and research on their territories.

The central theme of this project is the specific uses of water, linking three regions with different characteristics: riverside villages in the municipality of Castro Daire in Portugal, the town of Rincón de Paiva in northern Uruguay (near the border with Brazil) and the island of Salina, part of the Aeolian Islands archipelago, belonging to the Italian region of Sicily.

Binaural Nodar is a cultural structure supported by the Portuguese Government – Cultura | Direção-Geral das Arts.
