THE RIVERS OF THE COMMUNITY
A research and artistic creation project
Sax on the Road + Binaural Nodar
August 21 – September 3, 2023

A project produced by Binaural Nodar with dissemination support from the Viseu Dão Lafões Intermunicipal Community.

Until September 3, the Binaural Nodar team is carrying out the first phase of field research for the project “Os Rios da Comunidade” (The Rivers of the Community), a collaboration between the association’s team and the Sax on the Road group, for the conception of a record and musical and multimedia show dedicated to fourteen rivers of the Viseu Dão Lafões Intermunicipal Community, each corresponding to one of the fourteen municipalities that make up the community.

In the context of the sound, photographic and audiovisual fieldwork, river landscapes and villages close to the fourteen selected rivers are being toured, and it is possible to see the almost widespread drought of many of them, particularly those located further east, in the area of the Beira plateau. Nevertheless, further visits will be made in the fall and winter to continue interviewing some of the inhabitants and to see how the water levels of the rivers are likely to change.

We would like to remind you of the rivers that are the subject of sound, photographic and audiovisual recordings:
