With a presentation to the students of the Professional School of Vouzela, ended an artist residency of Rui Catalão’s new creation “(this show couldn’t have any other name but) IVONE!”, hosted by Binaural Nodar with the local partnerships of the Professional School of Vouzela and the Municipality of Vouzela.

Synopsis:
A choreography of looks directed by a mobile phone screen, a burlesque odyssey of an African family life on the European continent, IVONE! is a first-person account of the feeling of abandonment and dependence that guided the growth of a Cape Verdean girl. The character of Ivone (whose stories were collected by Guinean journalist Madiu Furtado) shares a similar way of life with the interpreters of the play: the incredible adventure of the African diaspora. IVONE! is also a theater-dance group, based in Vale da Amoreira, and made up of four performers who in the last four years have participated in different projects by Rui Catalão. They are: Natacha Campos, Rolaisa Embaló, Joãozinho da Costa and Luís Mucauro.
