The Municipal Library of Castro Daire and Binaural Nodar announce the opening of the exhibition “The time we were, the future we will be”, which is part of the ethnographic archiving project “Memory on Wheels” and will be open until March 31st, 2020 .
This exhibition rescues a part of the symbolic universe of what was the artisanal and commercial life of the municipality of Castro Daire until a few decades ago: a world of proximity manufacture and sale, made of cloggers, basket weavers, seamstresses, tinmakers, blacksmiths, weavers, etc. showing how it was possible for a rural territory to be practically self-sufficient with its knowledge, ingenuity and work, in a context of great economic difficulties, in this sense in absolute counterpoint to today’s comfort society.
