NAVE ESCUTATÓRIA. FICTION
Fictional practices of listening and territorial transduction
An artistic project by Luciano Piccilli (Argentina)
September 21st to October 15th
Vouzela (Portugal)
A local production by Binaural Nodar with pedagogical support from the Vouzela Vocational School, logistical support from the Municipality of Vouzela, and financial support from the Ibermúsicas 2025 and Laç(z)os Artísticos 2025 Programs, the latter co-organized by the Portuguese Republic – Culture, Youth, and Sports | Directorate-General for the Arts, the CPLP, and the OEI, with the support of El Corte Inglés.
Luciano Piccilli’s community project, to be developed in Vouzela (Portugal) with students from the Vouzela Vocational School, proposes the construction of a device that listens to the landscape and translates it into images, creating a visual score of the territory. This “escutatório” transforms vibrations into photographic marks through traditional chemical and analog processes, by the direct contact of materials subjected to sound vibrations.
Thus emerges a “sonotype”, a sonic writing that transforms listening into image, opening a space of creation and shared memory. The results will be presented to the public in a public exhibition in the town of Vouzela
