Binaural/Nodar hosts architecture exhibition

Binaural Nodar and the Municipality of Vouzela host at Lafões.Cult.Lab. (Rua do Seixo, nº 5, Vouzela) a contemporary architecture exhibition carried out in rural contexts of the Viseu region, curated by the Núcleo de Arquitectos da Região de Viseu.

October marks World Architecture Day (first Monday of the month). Thus, the ARQ OUT initiative, promoted by the Ordem dos Arquitectos Secção Regional do Norte – OASRN, in collaboration with its regional branches such as NARV – Núcleo de Arquitectos da Região de Viseu, aims to extend the celebrations throughout the whole month of October through a series of architecture-related cultural events created by citizens, institutions and members of the Ordem dos Arquitectos, within the geographic area of OASRN. This month is therefore increasingly becoming the month of Architecture. The ARQ OUT initiative aims to boost the production of cultural activity related to architecture, this platform serving as the collective outlet for promotion, encouraging contact between creators and institutions.

“Arquitectura em Contexto Rural” is an exhibition that aims to introduce a wider audience to examples of architectural interventions in villages of the Viseu region, thus demonstrating the role architecture can play in reinventing the built landscape, particularly evident in the current moment of generational transition, between a subsistence-based rural world and new ways of inhabiting the landscapes of the country’s interior.

The exhibition presents works by Álvaro Pereira, amvc arquitectos, Atelier do Rossio, Corpo Atelier, David da Silva, Elisa Rebelo, Inês Cortesão, João Pedro Loureiro, degrau arquitetura, Joaquim Pereira, Jorge Mealha, José Lobo Almeida, José Paulo Loureiro, José Perdigão, Manuel Cerveira Pinto, Nuno Durão Arquitectos, Oficina 20, Pedro Palma, psaa arquitetura, rar studio, Renato Rebelo, Seródio, Furtado Arquitectos and waataa arquitectura.
