Binaural Nodar, the Marvila Parish Council (Lisbon), Casa Concelho Castro Daire in Lisbon, the Municipality of Castro Daire, and the ISCTE Postgraduate Course in Digital Visual Cultures invite people originally from Castro Daire who emigrated to Marvila to a collective memory gathering, about what life was like in the “bairro chinês” (Chinese quarter), work in the factories and warehouses, and the social life of other times in the eastern part of Lisbon.
The memory-sharing gathering of people from Castro Daire in Marvila will take place on Saturday, December 15, at 10:00 am, at the premises of the Marvila Parish Council, Av. Paulo VI, no. 60, in Lisbon. We invite anyone who wishes to share their memories, or who knows people who might be interested, to share this call.
This session is part of the DA SERRA PARA A FÁBRICA (From the Mountain to the Factory) project, part of the European network Where the City Loses its Name, which brings together Binaural/Nodar, LaFundició (Catalonia/Spain) and Fundatia Altart (Romania), co-financed by the Creative Europe programme and included in the events and activities of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
