The Master’s in Contemporary Artistic Creation at the University of Aveiro and Binaural Nodar announce the co-organisation of an artistic residency in the Gralheira mountain range (São Pedro do Sul municipality) between April 25 and 28, included this year in the activities of the Creative Europe “Tramontana Network” project (Creative Europe Desk), of which Binaural/Nodar is currently the lead partner.
This will be the ninth consecutive edition of this artistic residency, which will take place in a context of territorial immersion, questioning the relationship between artistic creation and the rural world, and technical learning in the field of soundscapes, taking place in the villages of Candal, Póvoa das Leiras and Coelheira, and titled “A Serra e a Arte do Encontro” (“The Mountain and the Art of Encounter”).
This residency is an important pillar of Binaural/Nodar’s work in bridging young university students with the rural context in which it patiently develops its work, having brought, over the years, more than a hundred master’s students who produced artistic works and made contact with places in the region such as Candal, Póvoa das Leiras, Coelheira, São Félix, Nespereira Alta, Macieira, Covas do Monte, Aldeia da Pena, Termas de São Pedro do Sul and Casal de Sejães.
We invite everyone who would like to see the results of the work to visit Lago da Garça Guest House (Fraguinha, Coelheira), the venue hosting this year’s artistic residency (and to whom we are very grateful for their support), on Saturday, April 27, from 3pm.
This artistic residency is promoted in partnership with the São Pedro do Sul Municipality.
