The Vouzela Municipality will host, between May 23 and 25, an international meeting of the Tramontana Network, a Creative Europe project (Creative Europe Desk) dedicated to documenting, cataloguing, expressing and disseminating, through innovative, participatory and dynamic means, the intangible cultural heritage of rural and mountainous contexts across Europe.
Founded in 2011, the Tramontana Network currently comprises eight members from five different countries: Binaural Nodar (Portugal), Audiolab (Basque Country, Spain), Bambun (Abruzzo, Italy), Associazione LEM-Italia (Abruzzo, Italy), Nosauts de Bigòrra (Pyrenees, France), Numériculture Gascogne (Pyrenees, France), Eth Ostau Comengés (Pyrenees, France) and Akademia Profil (Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Poland). It carries out a wide range of activities in the fields of ethnographic, ethnolinguistic and ethnomusicological fieldwork, multimedia archiving, and cultural outreach through workshops, conferences, exhibitions, scientific articles, publications and cultural events across Europe.
In addition to the various working sessions taking place at the Lafões Cult Lab space, participants in this meeting will have the opportunity to take part in the Vitela de Lafões Festival (between May 24 and 26) and the Binaural/Nodar show “Pontes Perenes sobre Águas Temporárias”, part of the Rede Cultural Viseu Dão Lafões, taking place on Saturday, May 25 at 4pm.
