“Prova(s) with Traditions” Session

Last Saturday, April 18th, as part of the “Landscape with people inside” project, the “Prova(s) with Traditions” session took place in the village of Prova, in the municipality of Oliveira de Frades. During this activity, the group of photographers and project mentors had the opportunity to explore places, objects, and homes that preserve the collective memory of the village, part of the civil parish of Pinheiro, on a guided tour led by Elisabete Nunes, a native of the village. In this session, photography and history were used as tools for heritage appreciation.

The event culminated in a social lunch at Casa Mãe, featuring a traditional menu consisting of appetizers, a main course, and desserts, highlighting gastronomy as a pillar of local identity.

In attendance were the Mayor of Oliveira de Frades, João Valério; Councilwomen Elisa Ferraz de Oliveira and Mafalda Moitas; the coordinator of Binaural Nodar – Cultural Association, Luís Costa; Ana Luísa Saraiva from Espaço CreSer Pleno; municipal staff, as well as the project mentors.

The “Landscape with people inside” project was approved under the Inclusion through Culture program, following an application submitted by the Municipality to CCDR Centro.

Photographs and video by Liliana Silva (Binaural Nodar) and Sara Carvalho (Municipality of Oliveira de Frades).
