I LISTEN, REMEMBER AND FEEL
Active Listening and Oral Expression Workshop

Infante D. Henrique School Group (Viseu)
March 17th, 2026, from 11:35 a.m. to 1:20 p.m.

Binaural Nodar will lead a sound and oral expression workshop in partnership with the Infante D. Henrique School Group in Viseu, as part of the Rede Tramontana project, co-funded by the Creative Europe program.

The sound workshop “I Hear, I Remember, and I Feel” will challenge students to listen attentively and record aspects of the school’s soundscape, in all its sonic diversity (voices, movement, architecture) and its relationship with the surrounding space, as a stimulus for them to later express part of their personal world of memories, resulting in a collection of narratives composed of soundscapes and oral expression, which will hold a specific and collective value related to the history and sensibilities of the workshop participants.

Educational objectives of the workshop:

– Develop the capacity for attention and active listening, fostering a calm attitude that encourages the ability to perceive in detail the different sounds present in the school’s soundscape and its surrounding space.

– Stimulate sensitive and critical observation of sound elements related to movement, voices, and architecture, recognizing the diversity and specificity of the school environment—for example, in its building materials, the way space is occupied, and the acoustic interactions generated.

– Encourage oral expression through the sharing of personal memories and the construction of narratives that integrate sound experiences and individual memories.

– Exercise personal memory by recalling and relating captured sounds to one’s own experiences and stories, valuing the affective, sensory, and identity-related dimensions of the participants in all their diversity.

– Develop critical, negotiated, and collaborative listening skills, helping students recognize the value of different perceptions and interpretations of the shared sound space.

– Raise awareness of the importance of sound heritage as an integral part of local identity and the collective memory of the school community.

Binaural Nodar thanks Professor Carlos Cruchinho for the invitation to lead this sound workshop.
