A co-production by Irreal and Binaural Nodar, in collaboration with the Vouzela Professional School, the Municipality of Vouzela, the Mariana Seixas Professional School (Castro Daire Campus), and the Municipality of Castro Daire, through its Municipal Library.

Just over 30km away, young people from São Tomé and Príncipe study at vocational schools in Vouzela and Castro Daire, without knowing each other.

The project “A stranger from our land” aims to complement the vocational training process of young people from São Tomé and Príncipe who are living in the Beira sub-region of Viseu Dão-Lafões, in the towns of Vouzela and Castro Daire. The goal is to foster relationships between them and with the local community and to promote a series of activities, starting with theater, that facilitate their integration and coexistence beyond school life.

Consisting of an annual program that roughly coincides with the school year, the work will be carried out in two groups operating in parallel but separately, in order to prepare meetings that will take place twice, in the form of shows open to the public: the first in December 2025 and the second near the end of the school year in May 2026.

A project supported by the Portuguese Republic – Culture, Youth and Sports | Directorate-General for the Arts and integrated into the activities of the Tramontana Network, co-financed by the European Union’s Creative Europe program.
