FROM NODAR TO NODAR

A Northwest Corner creation
Two places, the same toponym. Nodar. They are four hundred kilometers apart, having a border carved in the middle. Both are lands of cliffs, windrows, butternuts and corn. What wind has blown for this coincidence? When, how and who acted? Is the Nodar in Lugo (Galicia) a mirror of the Nodar in São Pedro do Sul (Portugal)? What if a divine accident has repeated genetic, social and cultural forces, perhaps with a slight deviation?
Esquina Noroeste (“Northwest Corner”) is a constellation of connections between places, common people and artists from the northwest part of the Iberian Peninsula, established in order to reflect and to creatively express the historical, cultural and social links existing between neighboring territories. An initiative by Binaural Nodar launched in 2021, with participation in a first meeting of La Xata La Rifa, Oficina Galega de outros Asuntos do Movemento and Somospeces≠ and which proposes to host in the near future other individual and collective expressions.
This project had the support of the Municipality of Friol (Galicia), the Municipality of São Pedro do Sul and the Municipality of Vouzela.
