<\/div>Binaural Nodar will be present on Thursday, 01\/03 at 5:30 pm, at BTL Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa \u2013 Stand of the Municipality of Viseu, to present the digital version of the book \u201cV\u00e1rzea de Calde: uma Aldeia Tecida a Linho\u201d, a 240-page publication in Portuguese and English that describes in great detail the relationship between the community of V\u00e1rzea de Calde and the ancestral tradition of sowing, processing, spinning and weaving flax.<\/p>\n

The work is the result of a long three-year period of ethnographic research in the village of V\u00e1rzea de Calde, carried out by the Binaural\/Nodar association in close collaboration with the Casa de Lavoura e Oficina do Linho \u2013 Museu Etnogr\u00e1fico de V\u00e1rzea de Calde \u2013 Museus de Viseu, the Calde Parish Council, the Grupo Etnogr\u00e1fico de Trajes e Cantares do Linho and the Cooperativa do Linho de V\u00e1rzea de Calde, also being part of R\u00e9seau Tramontana, a project funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission.<\/p>\n

The publication highlights the merits of a collaborative work that brought into close relationship the Municipality of Viseu, one of its museum spaces, rural communities of the municipality and cultural structures of the region, in work beneficial to all, valuing the complementarity of approaches and the role of civil society and its agents in the dissemination of cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

The publication fixes, materializes and organizes cultural documentation that is often dispersed in the memory of various people, fostering a shareable \u201cknow-how\u201d with the world, of how a tradition as arduous and complex as that of flax truly exists.<\/p>\n

The publication was coordinated by Luis Gomes da Costa, with graphic design and illustrations by Liliana Silva, text transcription by Diana Silva and English translation by Margarete Silva, featuring texts by Luis Gomes da Costa, Manuela Barile, Elisabete Figueiredo and Vastaman Alessandro, with a preface by Dr. Jorge Sobrado, Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Viseu.<\/p>\n

The publication will soon be on sale at the Casa de Lavoura e Oficina do Linho \u2013 Museu Etnogr\u00e1fico de V\u00e1rzea de Calde.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t
