RIBOLHOS BLACK CLAY WORKSHOP

On 23rd May, the 7th grade students from the Castro Daire School Group had the opportunity to live a unique and enriching experience at the Ribolhos Black Clay Workshop, in the municipality of Castro Daire.<\/p>\n

They were welcomed by the coordinator of Binaural Nodar, Dr Lu\u00eds Costa, who gave them a guided tour of the museum space. During the visit, an atmosphere of reflection and sharing was promoted, focussing on the specific example of the handicraft production of utilitarian and figurative pieces made from black clay.<\/p>\n

Binaural Nodar was co-responsible for designing the interpretive route for this space, working together with the Castro Daire Municipal Library and local potter Jorge Ferreira.<\/p>\n

The Municipality of Castro Daire is in charge of the workshop’s activities, in close collaboration with Binaural Nodar, the Mamouros, Alva and Ribolhos civil parish union, local and foreign artisans, as well as the Saber Fazer Programme and the National Arts Plan, two Portuguese government programmes in the field of arts and crafts.<\/p>\n
