THE ART OF THE CARAMULO ENCOUNTER
\nArtist residency
\nApril 20th to 23rd, Laf\u00f5es Cult Lab (Vouzela)<\/p>\n

The Master of Contemporary Artistic Creation of the University of Aveiro and Binaural Nodar celebrate in 2023 twelve years of continuous partnership, within which multiple joint activities have been developed, including an annual artist residency co-organized in the territory of Viseu D\u00e3o Laf\u00f5es since 2011 and which in 2022 motivated the retrospective exhibition “Between times and places” which took place at the building of the Department of Communication and Art of the University of Aveiro. The concept of this long partnership has been related to the idea of \u200b\u200bcomplementarity, both territorial, Vouga River as a symbol of the connection between mountain and Atlantic communities, and artistic, soundscapes and sound art as an interesting area for contemporary artistic creation.<\/p>\n

Between April, 20th and 23rd the town of Vouzela and surrounding villages will be the stage for this collaborative artist residency, with the presence of about twenty professors and students of the Master’s Degree in Contemporary Artistic Creation of the University of Aveiro, which includes a strong idea of \u200b\u200bcontact: with the landscape, with direct speech and with empathy between different ways of living and inhabiting. The need to contact with the earth, with attentive listening and unmediated sharing of memories. It also welcomes the young artists’ bodies, voices and desires for creative expression.<\/p>\n

This artist residency is included in the activities of the International Day for Monuments and Sites | DIMS2023 and has logistical and communication support from the Municipality of Vouzela.<\/p>\n
