Binaural Nodar and the Cultural and Sports Association of Rompecilha are pleased to announce the publication of a book and documentary entitled “Linen: Stories along a thread” that will be presented on August 15th at 9 pm in the village of Rompecilha (Parish Union of S\u00e3o Martinho das Moitas and Covas do Rio, Municipality of S\u00e3o Pedro do Sul).<\/p>\n

\u201cLinen: Stories along a thread\u201d follows the rebirth of linen in this village located on the southern slope of the S\u00e3o Mac\u00e1rio mountain, based on the symbolic initiative of a inhabitant, Delfim Tom\u00e1s Rocha, who returned to his village to take care of his mother who has Alzheimer and realized the importance of the rhythms and voices of the ancient linen tradition as a therapy against forgetfulness. The publication that is now being announced is the result of a joint work that started in 2012 and involved all the inhabitants of Rompecilha, whose individual paths are also portrayed in the book, in parallel with the ethnographic memories linked to linen itself. This publication is part of the European project Tramontana, a network of rural and mountain memory archives.<\/p>\n
