{"id":24729,"date":"2025-05-11T15:10:34","date_gmt":"2025-05-11T15:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.binauralmedia.org\/news?post_type=avada_portfolio&#038;p=24729"},"modified":"2025-12-18T18:52:00","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T18:52:00","slug":"ana-margarida-ferreira-liliana-silva-and-luis-costa-2","status":"publish","type":"avada_portfolio","link":"https:\/\/www.binauralmedia.org\/news\/en\/arquivo\/portfolio-items\/ana-margarida-ferreira-liliana-silva-and-luis-costa-2","title":{"rendered":"Ana Margarida Ferreira, Liliana Silva and Lu\u00eds Costa"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1 fusion-flex-container has-pattern-background has-mask-background nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row fusion-flex-align-items-flex-start fusion-flex-content-wrap\" style=\"max-width:1144px;margin-left: calc(-4% \/ 2 );margin-right: calc(-4% \/ 2 );\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-0 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-flex-column\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;--awb-width-large:100%;--awb-margin-top-large:0px;--awb-spacing-right-large:1.92%;--awb-margin-bottom-large:20px;--awb-spacing-left-large:1.92%;--awb-width-medium:100%;--awb-order-medium:0;--awb-spacing-right-medium:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-medium:1.92%;--awb-width-small:100%;--awb-order-small:0;--awb-spacing-right-small:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-small:1.92%;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-column-has-shadow fusion-flex-justify-content-flex-start fusion-content-layout-column\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><p class=\"p1\">The exhibition \u201cA carqueja no quotidiano de V\u00e1rzea de Calde\u201d (Prickly broom in the daily life of V\u00e1rzea de Calde), part of the Festa da Carqueja (Prickly Broom Festival), was organized by the working group V\u00e1rzea de Calde \u2014 Aldeia de Portugal and curated by Binaural Nodar, in collaboration with the Municipality of Viseu (Viseu Cultura), the Parish Council of Calde, the Cultural and Recreational Association of V\u00e1rzea de Calde, the Ethnographic Group of Costumes and Songs of V\u00e1rzea de Calde, the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, the ID+ and LiDA research centers, and the European network Tramontana, with funding from the Creative Europe program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The exhibition consists of three complementary art installations: a photographic installation by Liliana Silva documenting all the uses of gorse identified in the village of V\u00e1rzea de Calde; a visual installation by Ana Margarida Ferreira using gorse itself and drawing as expressions of texture and color, as well as the passage of time; and, finally, a sound and video installation by Lu\u00eds Costa, integrated into his research within the Doctoral Program in Artistic Creation (ID+ and LiDA research centers), which establishes a connection between carqueja and the idea of community (the mountain as a common space) and inter-territorial relations (wild mountain plants as a characteristic of the Iberian landscape).<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p class=\"p1\">Ana Margarida Ferreira is a production and multimedia technician at Binaural Nodar \u2014 Cultural Association. She has a degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Painting, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto, and a master&#8217;s degree in Contemporary Artistic Creation from the University of Aveiro. She has participated in several group exhibitions, namely \u201cDa Sombra\u201d (Ermesinde, Portugal, 2020), \u201cEstado de Emerg\u00eancia\u201d (Viseu, Portugal, 2021), \u201cEntre Tempos e Lugares\u201d (Aveiro, Portugal, 2022), and \u201cHippocampus\u201d (Vilnius, Lithuania, 2023).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Liliana Silva is natural from Santo Ant\u00f3nio, Funchal (Portugal). In 2014, she completed her degree in Fine Arts, Multimedia Branch, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. In the same year, she enrolled in a master&#8217;s degree in Multimedia Communication, Interactive Multimedia Branch, at the University of Aveiro, which she completed in 2016. Since August 2017, she has been responsible for communication and multimedia at Binaural Nodar, where she has been intensely involved in graphic design, graphic editing, video recording and editing, exhibition design and assembly, among other areas. She made the documentary \u201c\u00c0 eira: o centeio que resiste em Campia\u201d (2020). \u201cTemplo erguido: a hist\u00f3ria da igreja nova de S\u00e3o Miguel do Mato\u201d (2022), \u201cRebordinho: Uma aldeia retratada\u201d (2023), and \u201cA valoriza\u00e7\u00e3o dos Baldios de Rebordinho e Malhadouro\u201d (2024).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Lu\u00eds Costa is a PhD researcher in artistic creation at the University of Aveiro and the School of Arts and Design (Caldas da Rainha). Since 2004, he has worked as a curator and programmer of contemporary artistic practices, as well as a sound and multimedia artist. He is the founder and coordinator of Binaural Nodar since 2006. He is the author\/editor of twelve books dedicated to artistic, sound, and media research, as well as rural ethnography.
