Luís
Costa | Financial and Production Director
Born in 1968, Luís holds a degree in management sciences and worked until 2006 as a Chief Technology and Operational Officer in the Orey Group, a Portuguese company. Luís also taught Operational Investigation in a portuguese university and is a Certified Accountant. Having a long standing interest in the new media arts, Luís worked at the label SIRR, with the responsability of administrative and financial areas. Presently he is the President of Binaural and the coordinator of Nodar Guest Studio.
Rui Costa | Artistic Director
Rui Costa began his public activity as a sound artist in 1997. In 1998 he started a close collaboration with the Spanish musician Iñaki Ríos inside the project ja_dijiste, which covers several areas of common interests as sound art, free improvisation and video creation, using software-based (max/msp, etc.) composition & improvisation techniques and developing several conceptual projects such as the intermedia work „Nodar”, presented in 2002 at the Music Ex Machina festival in Bilbao, Spain.
Manuela Barile | Co-Artistic Director and Technical
Director
Manuela Barile is an italian vocal artist and an interdisciplinary performer cuurently living in Portugal. She explores the voice in all its possible musical and spoken expressions, employing Western and Oriental vocal techniques, as well as those of her invention, without recourse to any electronic manipulations. Her artistic work consists in the combination of her sounds with different media (installation, concert-performance, photography, video, drawing, writing). During her artistic career she has performed with many musicians and artists.
Maile Colbert | Graphic Design and Media Post-Production
Director
Maile Colbert is an American filmmaker, video, and sound artist currently working in Portugal. She holds a BFA in The Studio for Interrelated Media from Massachusetts College of Art, and a MFA in Integrated Media/Film and Video from the California Institute of the Arts. She has had multiple screenings, exhibits, and shows, including The New York Film Festival, LACE Gallery, MOMA New York, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the REDCAT Theater in Los Angeles, The Portland International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival, and a two-week multi-media tour in Japan.
